Main Facility

This 52,675 SF building includes 36 private bedrooms, community living rooms, a main dining room, administrative offices, private therapeutic offices and 8 group therapy classrooms.

Art Center

A certified art therapist leads art therapy activities in the uplifting and energizing Art Room that includes a kiln for clay work and pottery. Behavioral health programs in Charlotte have rarely, if ever, included art therapy as part of their treatment approach. Yet considerable scientific evidence supports the strong value that expressive and creative artistic activities provide clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses.

Faith Center

HopeWay offers non-denominational pastoral care options for clients primarily using the Faith Center and its rustic, calming space. The room’s wall of windows overlooks a peaceful, wooded setting and the special wood and stone features in the room offer a visual connection with the natural environment promoting a meditative atmosphere ideal for focusing on the mind-body connection. This room is also an ideal setting for other holistic healing approaches such as yoga and mindfulness.

Group Therapy Rooms

Four traditional yet comfortable and inviting group therapy rooms are used to provide evidence-based psychotherapy including cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy with 9 – 12 clients per group. Groups are led by a licensed therapist.

Residence

HopeWay’s residential wing hosts 36 single bedrooms with private baths segmented into 6 “neighborhoods”, each named for a different region of North Carolina. The colors selected for the bedrooms are calming in nature and the finishes and décor are meant to feel as if residents are staying in a nice hotel room. The various living areas along the residential corridor provide a variety of spaces in which to spend time outside of the daily therapeutic programming.
